2024-2025 Concerts in Review

October 26, 2024 - “New Frontiers” - we enjoyed the French Horn search in the Season Program (did you find all 19?), as well as snacks provided by the Low Brass Section.

December 7, 2024 - “It’s the Holiday Season!” - this was such a fun concert with our percussion section performing a special selection evoking good ol’ Charlie Brown, and our low brasses playing selections from TUBACHRISTMAS®!

December 14, 2024 - TUBACHRISTMAS®, part of the Boulder Freezie Fest, was a great success. Almost 70 players participated, and around 200 spectators enjoyed the performance.

February 22, 2025 - “Voices Shouting Out” was a wonderful concert celebrating black and women composers. We were delighted to play “Dances in the Canebrakes” under the guest baton of Dr. Wesley Broadnax, and we were thrilled to share this wonderful music with such an appreciative audience!

March 8, 2025 - The Community Band Festival, sponsored by the Thornton Community Band and the Colorado Wind Ensemble, was a wonderful learning experience for all participants. Our clinician, Dr. Brett Keating, director of the Colorado Brass, provided invaluable feedback on maintaining tempo, which we hope to incorporate into our future performances.

April 19, 2025 - “A Garden of Delights” - This delightful concert celebrated the arrival of spring and the new life it brings. We were also honored to remember the life of Sandra McMillen Sarten by performing The Lark in the Clear Air. The audience, particularly the children, had a wonderful time making garden-themed crafts during intermission, all thanks to the efforts of Board member Barbara Munin.
